We've covered Alan Grice before. (Yes, we're fans) The Brighton-based songwriter behind Fierce Friend has a CV that reads like a love letter to indie music, with stints across Electric Soft Parade, Foxes!, and Octopuses, and a debut album that earned a glowing nod from Stuart Maconie on BBC Radio 6 Music. Now, with a full album on the way, "Blood Red Hills & The Uncanny Valley", dropping 26 October, Grice is back with his second single, and it's got teeth.

Man, Music, Musician, Artist, Singer, Piano, Keys, Keyboard, Black, Single, Indie, Pop, Rock, Glasses

"Put You Right" arrives with a driving guitar lick, layered against sharp synth textures. The arrangement does what Grice does best: it feels bright on the surface and a little unstable underneath. It's a clever bit of construction for a song that's entirely about people refusing to listen.

Thematically, this one sits squarely in the world most of us have been navigating for the past several years: a place where everyone's certain, correction curdles into accusation, and the individual doing the loudest talking has already decided they've won.

Stream "Put You Right" now, and if you're not already watching what Fierce Friend is building toward in October, now's a great time to start paying attention.
