'Today' is one of those rare songs you come across that feel short-lived yet enormous once you have a listen. It opens with Gambles' cautious, a little raspy vocals over a slow, eerie build-up. And then the chorus hits, and I mean hits! It earns every bit of the emotional weight it's been gathering since the first note. There's a late-track vocoder effect introduced by producer George Collings that I personally love. It adds this sense of otherworldly quality.

Lyrically, 'Today' floats between that paralysing feeling of a major life decision. The cloudiness, the falling, the moment where you either move too slowly and get stuck, or move too fast and lose your footing entirely. Something tells me this release is just the beginning of a much bigger chapter for Tim Gambles.
