Michellar's New Single, "Can't Get You Out of My Mind" Lives Up to Its Name!

It is so astounding to see a woman spend 40 years away from songwriting and then make the greatest comeback!

Michellar, the San Francisco-based singer-songwriter, marks her return after a four-decade hiatus from music altogether. And now, her creative fire was reignited when she was accepted into the deYoung Museum Open Call Exhibition in 2023. Since then, she's released about 22 singles in just nine months! Michelle Bond wrote the lyrics and melody with producer Michael Beckheart bringing it all to life in the studio, and together, they've come out with "Can't Get You Out of My Mind."

"Can't Get You Out of My Mind" is a slow-burning song drowned in that all-too-familiar vintage vibe. The production fully leans into that dreaminess and lets the chorus wash over you in waves. The "sensual escapism" she describes is right there in the bones of the song, and as she puts it herself, "Curiosity kills the cat. I think we both killed it on this song." Hard to argue. This is also the first single off an upcoming psychedelic album due in Spring 2027, and if this is the opening statement, I'm already marking my calendar!
