Don’t Let the Band Name Fool You.“Beneath the Lights” Is an Absolute Earworm!

I stumbled onto this band the way you stumble onto most good things: completely by accident, mildly unprepared for how much I’d end up liking it!

MegaDestroyer is a power trio out of Omaha, formed in back in 2024. They make incredible punk rock music and do everything in their power to keep the timeless genre alive! Colin Moore on guitar and vocals, Ric Orta on bass, and Marlo Lowe on drums, each member has something to offer!

“Beneath the Lights” brings back punk-pop energy with a more glossier and bigger-feeling production that Moore himself described as "flirting with electro-pop." The chorus lands on the first listen and doesn’t leave. Insane earworm! The song walks the theme of slow creep of adult life crowding out the things that actually make you feel alive. The title came from a real moment Moore had on stage, hearing a crowd sing his words back to him.

Now, if you’re new to MegaDestroyer, start here, then go dig up “STEAM” and “Parachutes.” Stream “Beneath the Lights” wherever you listen to music. Thank me later.
