Manchester’s Jay Plent and his band of magnificent chaos merchants have had a ridiculous run lately. From sold-out shows to a whole acclaimed score for a musical called GREY at Edinburgh Fringe. SCATTERCHILD have always had this very specific energy sad yelling with earworm hooks, that's the simplest description I can give you about their music!

Four serious adults pose against a dark backdrop, lit warmly; one woman in a sheer black dress and three men in black shirts, one with red graphic.

So. About "FRUSTRATOR". I have good things and only good things to talk about this release. This song is quite heavy in the best way possible. Synths and drums that make your heart race like crazy. But to be very honest, It’s not even the production (which is great, don’t get me wrong) that got to me initially. it’s the emotional specificity of what Plent is describing. He’s talked about how the song is about someone who pulls you close specifically to hurt you and then you beat yourself up for letting it happen, so you suffer twice. I heard that and went oh. oh no. I know this song. My favourite kind of tragedy--i mean--song!

Go stream "FRUSTRATOR" right now. Follow SCATTERCHILD. Look out for their new album "Different Oceans Alone" that will drop real soon. I know I will be!
