If you've been following Tune Oasis for a while, Alien Friend is no stranger to these pages, and for good reason! The Swedish artist, who once fronted the band Redmoon, has been making incredible music under his solo project Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends. There's a craftsmanship to his work that you don't stumble upon often, and this album version of "Happy People Won't Hear" is proof of his talents!

King, Sparrow, Album, Cover, History, Crown, Man, Fur, Trees, Music, Indie, Rock, Pop, Folk, Sketch

His latest release, "Happy People Won't Hear", is technically a revisit because the track originally dropped as a single back in 2024 and is now re-released as an album version. David Myhr of the Merrymakers co-produces here, and his fingerprints are all over the best bits. The main idea of the song is quite simple: happy people, comfortable people, don't want to hear about suffering. They're too busy looking at beautiful people, dancing with beautiful people. There's a man knocking at the door in the rain, and the narrator won't let him in because they just swept the floor. It's darkly funny and deeply uncomfortable, which is exactly what the artist was going for.

If this is your first run-in with Alien Friend's world, "Happy People Won't Hear (Album Version)" is a perfect place to start. And if you've been here before, you already know the drill. Go give it a spin. Some songs are just worth the extra minute.
