"Muddy Waters" is an attestation to the Red River flood of 1997 by CAR287. The rock band from Winnipeg, Canada, has been gaining momentum over the past two years with their originality, talent, and chemistry.

The track is part of a 13-track album, "Looking Through The Lens", recorded live with no click track and completed over a weekend. The southern rock influence and blues guitar shine through their work, evidently.

Originally released on September 19th, 2025, the single has gained a newfound significance following the catastrophic flooding that has struck Western Manitoba recently.

"Those muddy waters trying to bring us down" are the lyrics showcasing the resilience that the story behind the song stands for. The band has taken something historically regional and turned it into something universally resonant. It's like flood myths across cultures connecting humans through the common link of loss, grief and restoration through resilience.

The timeless guitar riffs were my personal favourite. The flow of the track is as unpredictable as an actual flood. Travis Wog's vocals add that extra edge to the song. Do give it a listen.

They will travel to Rockin The Fields Of Minnedosa to play on Saturday, August 1st, with Smashmouth and Collective Soul. Go experience their charm first-hand.
