Vemalo Remind Us That Home Is a Feeling, Not a Place in their Latest Release, "Sense of Home"

Vemalo is a trio band, the brainchild of Vedantha Kumar, Matthew Davis, and Louis Pearson, who have been making intimate and cinematic folk music. Matthew has worked alongside Grammy Award-winning singer Daisy Chute and Stuart Moxham of post-punk icons Young Marble Giants. Vedantha moves between worlds too, as part of the Nayar collective. They carry that experience without wearing it on their sleeve, and their latest release, "Sense of Home", is proof enough!

Produced in Paris by Jonathan Le Fevre, the track brings in guest vocalist Nathalie Nahai, and to be graciously honest, that choice alone earns a gold star! Her voice compliments alongside Vedantha's and pushes back against it all while creating this gorgeous tension that feels like two people finishing each other's thoughts or even sentences!
The song's premise is quite simple. It's about searching for somewhere you feel safe, loved, and held. It may be a place, or a person, who just feels like home, you know? And Le Fevre's production honours that very well!
"Sense of Home" is the kind of song that earns a permanent spot in your most-played/on repeat. Go give it a listen. You don't come across songs like these on a daily basis anymore.
