There’s something almost unfair about a 21-year-old engineering student walking into a studio for the first time and coming out sounding insanely good.

Felix Karl Josef, the vocal half of the German mother-son project QUINTESSE has quite an intriguing baritone. Him and his mum, songwriter Claudia Heinrich-Witzenthaler, are just making music on their own terms, out of Munster/Örtze!

Astronaut in space reaches for a red balloon under On my way by QUINTESSE feat. KARL JOSEF against a starry galaxy.

“On My Way” was written for Felix’s sister Victoria, who spent years pushing through setbacks before finally reaching a milestone that mattered. And to be very honest, when I read about that, the whole song perspective changed for me and made complete sense. The guitar and saxophone slowly start transcending you quite beautifully! If I had to pick a personal favourite moment in the track, it would be the way it builds. By the time it opens up fully, you’ve already immersed yourself into every second of it.

Go stream “On My Way” on your choice of platform and follow QUINTESSE so you don’t miss what comes next! Maybe send this to someone who needs to hear it right now, as well.
