Alien Friend is a former member of Swedish rock outfit Redmoon. This is a personal journey that does not seem to be about redefining. Just the songs he actually wants to make. If the name Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends teaches us anything, it's that he's not taking his work too seriously, which, strangely enough, makes the music more relatable.

"The Sparrow" is one of those songs that takes its time to grow on you. There's a boy in a temple, a bird that shouldn't have survived, a woman in flames that maybe only one person could see. And somewhere in all of it, the narrator starts wondering whether the dying thing he's trying to save... is himself. It is, however, the ability of the song to relay its story that makes it so cohesive.

From the chimes of church bells to a mellotron to keys that keep shifting just when you think you've found your footing. It speaks from the heart in a way most generic rock lyrics can’t. "The Sparrow" is well worth a listen. The more you hear it, the more you'll appreciate it. Their new album, "The King and the Sparrow," is available for streaming/download on all platforms.
