The Ancient Unknown is a London-based fusion rock band that runs on music and righteous fury. The band's musical style cannot be put into neatly labelled boxes, as they blend different genres and eras, giving it an eccentric touch. What we can pinpoint, however, is their passion towards making a strong statement against the immigration rules and breaking families apart, using music as their weapon.

Four men eat snacks at a lit street-food counter at night, with takeaway boxes and menu boards behind glass.

"Separated", The Ancient Unknown's newest single, is an empathetic anthem expressing exactly how distant bureaucratic cruelty ruins very real lives. It is energetic, it is bold, and yet never preachy. Written by Spin, the lyrics are touching, and the delivery is equally deep.

The song starts with muted guitar riffs before the drums join in. It all somehow feels classic, yet with a twist you don't expect. The vocals are particularly smooth in this one. Spin's delivery carries the emotional essence of "Separated". The interlude at the 2:51 mark that fades into the outro is the most powerful part of this song. It definitely made me bob my head along to the music. The guitar riffs towards the end are also crazy good.

Do listen to this one. It's a great addition to your rock playlists, especially if you are as politically charged as The Ancient Unknown.
