Mister Chorister breaks his silence with rock music and lyrics that scream "You're not Listening"
Australian-born, London-based songwriter, Christopher Scott Brammer, started off his career early in life, using songwriting to explore emotions and identity. Brammer is back after a three-decade hiatus as Mister Chorister, his project focusing on the themes of courage, self-belief, resilience, and creativity.

Mister Chorister's third single, "You’re Not Listening" is the track that explores feelings of being unheard, emotional suppression and the frustration that comes with it. The songwriting process itself went through a developmental arch of sorts. Brammer started writing as he felt his colleague wasn't hearing him out but later considered the colleague's point of view as well. So, the track's progression reflects this emotional progression from internal conflict to confrontation to release.
The song starts off with an intense guitar passage, it slowly introduces keyboards and drums to the mix making it an interesting ride. The track has an alt-rock, pop-rock style of music with lyrics anyone can easily relate to. The vocal chorus almost takes this megaphone-type quality before it slows down towards the end, getting softer, and quieter. You can hear the emotional progression throughput the song's ebb and flow, the tension and later the release very clearly audible.
Give this one a go if you've ever wanted to scream over not being heard enough.
