Korda Korder came in October of 2024 rather quietly, and yet from the very beginning, they were not going to be overlooked. The band creates its own unique sound around a simple yet powerful philosophy: make music that one can lose oneself in.

Korda Korder's new release, "Everything You Ever Wanted To Be", begins just as good coming-of-age movies do: with a drumbeat establishing itself, followed by a guitar riff that sounds almost like a remembered melody. The opening thirty seconds are reassuringly comfortable. What appealed to me about this song was its subject matter. Despite its dreamy quality, the lyrics pose a rather daunting question: "Who are you when there’s no one watching?" The contrast between the person you try to be in the world outside versus who you really are when you’re alone.

In terms of production, the song remains understated with its use of crash cymbals, infectious guitar riffs, and soulful vocals. There is a sense of bittersweetness that runs throughout the track, which isn't necessarily sad, but just exists in some limbo of honesty.

Korda Korder are new. They're figuring out who they are as a band, but nonetheless,

they are well worth your time. Stream "Everything You Ever Wanted To Be" now.
