I Did Not Expect a Garage Track from San Diego by Duke Moody to Hit This Hard!

Ken Chaney is the brain behind Duke Moody. Chaney's one of those people who grew up surrounded by music with a self-taught musician dad and classically trained mum! Ze's put out seven or eight releases over the last few years under the Duke Moody name, and every time, Ze pulls in drummer Spence Noble and Grammy-winning engineer Alan Sanderson (the guy who's worked with Michael Jackson and Weezer).

On Stage: Duke Moody

"Wretched People" was released on 12th September 2026. Chaney has said the track was partly inspired by the release of the Epstein files, and you can feel that tension in the lyrics. The song holds this uncomfortable quality where it's not just calling out the corrupt and the powerful, it's merely asking you what side of that line you're on. That's the bit that stuck with me personally. Four separate mixes from Sanderson to get the balance right and yeah, it fully works in thon's favour!

If you've been craving something that actually sounds like it has a backbone, go stream "Wretched People" right now! Then follow Duke Moody, because this is clearly not a project that's slowing down anytime soon. Give it a shot!
