You almost certainly know Lauren Ash from the screen. Six years as the wonderfully biting Dina Fox on NBC's Superstore, followed by her role as Lexi on the recent sitcom, Not Dead Yet. She has a knack for playing women who refuse to be dismissed. Lauren Ash has been writing songs since her early teens, having a dream not just of performing but of being part of a band. That dream is no longer deferred.

"F.A.F.O (F*ck Around and Find Out) is a full-throated, anthemic middle finger to the misogynists, mansplainers, and condescending gatekeepers that litter the music industry. Co-written with Robbie Brett (who also produced) and rising artist Cindë, with drums laid down by Zoe McMillan in her very first original studio recording, the track is a genuine team effort.
The vibe is all early 2000s rock. It is loud and fun and a little unhinged in the best way. Ash's voice tears through the composition with a playful intensity that fits well within the context of the track. The tongue-in-cheek tone keeps it from becoming pretentious or overly self-serious.
So, if you've ever wanted to tell someone off but had to smile instead, this one's for you.
