Now based out of Finland Doron Karavani, was born in Yemen and has then travelled around the world, falling in love with travelling and exploring. He has a soulful voice and after listening to his album I can say that artists like Doron have a deeper understanding of life and how one can find fulfillment. Doron picks up the guitar and composes a new song whenever he needs to clear his head. The result is this beautiful collection of songs that will inspire you to change for the better and give you a fresh outlook on life.
The album consists of 9 powerful and evocative tracks that will completely transform you. The album opens with Sky High which slowly draws you into the blissful listening experience of this album. It has a hint of country and Doron's vocals feel familiar and comforting. This track is followed by "I'll be there" and as the song suggests the song comes through as a ray of hope and serves as a reminder that reassures that you always have someone to fall back on and confide in.
His lyrics are deeply personal and relatable, his vocals give you a sense of comfort that will make you lose yourself in the mesmerising listening experience that Time to Rise offers. For example, the track "Free Time" feels like a warm hug on a cold winter night. The title track "Time to Rise" is a liberating that serves as a wakeup call and urges you to rise and break free from the shackles of life. "Not Tonight" is perhaps the most relatable song from the album, it has a melancholic vibe to it but the theme of resilience is consistent in this track too. Marco Kataja has done an impeccable job mixing these tracks as all the instruments shine throughout the album and can be distinctively heard, making the listening experience more immersive. Lastly, my favourite track "Catch me if you can", Kalevi Louhivuori did an incredible job on the trumpet solo in the outro of this song and essentially the album, it leaves you recharged and fuels you with energy to take charge of your life.
