Hailing from the green and lush southeast England hills, Blak-Ram is a phenomenal rap artist known for their gritty style. The rapper, originally from Sudan, had an early life filled with struggle, and they express this with their music. They began their journey in rap all the way back in 2019 with their iconic EP "#MakeSudanGreatAgain". Political and humanitarian rights have always been at the forefront of their musical movement. This is well demonstrated in their latest track, "Blood Gold" which speaks out about illegal gold trade in the UAE with a super sick beat!
The track begins with a lo-fi-esque dark synth pad accompanied by a smooth high-cut bass line. A filtered adlib mimicking a megaphone is heard explaining the situation, which further amplifies the storytelling in the song. This sick, groovy beat begins soon after, which will get your head bopping in an instant. Blak-Ram is dropping some fire bars exposing the atrocities while a catchy synthline plays in the background. This composition is masterfully crafted by blending lo-fi hip-hop with revolution in mind. If you were looking for a super catchy beat with a strong message, this is it!
