Beejar's "Playing to the Gallery" Is the Song for Everyone Who's Ever Wanted to Torch the System!

So I've had this track on repeat for the better part of my morning and I genuinely cannot tell you why it took me this long to find Beejar!

The London four-piece Irish duo Ellen Cronin (vocals, guitar, keys) and Dave Mannion (guitar), with Ammaar Wahab on drums and Rob Parker holding down the bass have been making some insanely good music. Sold-out headline shows across Shoreditch, packed nights at O2 Academy Islington, a War Child fundraiser that raised £1,400 and put them in the UK's Top 20 fundraising acts.

"Playing to the Gallery," which is produced by Andy Zanini (protégé of acclaimed Jim Lowe), does not ease you in. The groove is funky with this danceable energy underneath the distortion that makes it feel like alt-rock that actually wants you to move.

My personal favourite bit is the chorus. It's about being squeezed into a shape by a machine that doesn't care about you and then the moment something in you snaps and says no. "Who are you playing to?" is the kind of question that sits with you after the song ends.
