Thirteen is an Austrian duo of Mike Fink and Paul Hochrainer who have been making music together since the late 1980s, and that experience shows in everything they do.

"Rude Boys" finds Thirteen stepping into territory they usually avoid. The band admits they try to stay away from political statements, but this track came from a place they couldn't ignore. The message isn't complicated: basic human decency shouldn't be this hard to find, yet here we are, surrounded by people who've forgotten how to show respect. It's a frustration many of us share.
Recorded in their home city of Salzburg, they made the choice to use real analog synthesizers for every keyboard sound you hear. The synths sit perfectly under the vocals. Thirteen didn't set out to write a protest anthem, and "Rude Boys" doesn't feel like one. So, after decades of making music, they know how to get a point across without beating you over the head with it.
If you're tired of music that's all style and no substance, "Rude Boys" is worth your time. Thirteen has been doing this long enough to know what works, and this track proves they've still got plenty to say.
