There's something beautifully stubborn about a band that records in a garage-built studio in Klaukkala, Finland. Weak Trees is the brainchild of the twin brothers Juuso and Joonas Heiskanen, plus bassist Antti Erola.

"Animal" is one of those tracks that could only come from a real experience, and boy, do these guys have a story. Picture this: a heavy winter night in Finland, snow everywhere, the band wandering through the forest, probably having made some questionable decisions, and their dog basically becoming their hero. That's the song.
The track is straightforward in the best way: lost in the woods, counting on your dog, finding your way home. If you're into bands that sound like they actually live the life they sing about, Weak Trees has to be your new obsession. "Animal" proves that sometimes the best songs come from the simplest truths: dogs are better navigators than humans, winter nights make for great stories, and Finnish forests apparently inspire killer riffs.
Give it a spin, turn it up loud, and maybe hug your dog afterwards. Or if you don't have one, this track might just convince you it's time to fix that.
