Alexis Lace throws a R&B-Rap curveball at us with her single "Long Street Made of Glass"
London-based solo artist, Alexis Lace, started writing songs at 12 years. Now, the artist has mastered songwriting, producing, mixing, and recording songs independently, working from her own room. Her style is largely influenced by the 90s R&B vibe, inspired by artists like All Saints, En Vogue, TLC.

Her latest single, "Long Street Made of Glass", is inspired by Lace's own memories of visiting Victoria Street in London with a family member she's estranged from now. Instead of turning the memory into a bittersweet sob story, Lace created this upbeat, determined track.
The song starts off with the classic R&B tune that we are familiar with. And then it takes a 180° turn, changing the vibe to something like an alt-rap, alt-pop track. The melody is gentle, yet the beats are steady, hard, and energetic. The song is sung like a slow rap; it feels almost conversational, like a rant you'd share with a friend. It is truly unique with its raw, grounded nature.
When the artist songs the chorus, "no more tears, no more fears", it sounds so determined, like she's taking charge of the narrative through this song literally and metaphorically.
It's a song unlike any other. Do give it a go.
