Charlie Freeman, usually identified by his stage name "FREE/MAN" is a phenomenal songwriter hailing from Notting Hill, London, and a well-known name in the music industry. Freeman has greatly contributed to the music industry with their JBJ Studio catering to big-name artists such as Doja Cat and The 1975.
After taking a hiatus in the pandemic, Freeman is back with the re-release of his debut album "Truth". The album consists of total bangers but "Watchtower" is what has caught the attention of our ears. It's an easy-going acoustic track, a nice break in this chaotic world. It starts off with a satisfactory jam of the guitars, bass, drums, and a catchy harmonica melody. Freeman's voice is soothing like the chirp of the birds in the morning. The lyrics touch on heavy topics like loneliness and companionship all while having ethereal harmonies caress your eardrums. And that acoustic guitar solo is the cherry on top! This is the perfect song for a midnight drive through the countryside!
