Arctic Monkeys is the new face of Modern British Rock Music. Budding from the peaceful neighborhoods of Sheffield, England, Arctic Monkeys are anything but peaceful when on stage. They are known for being the first to be popular through the internet. Before the dawn of the internet, bands would be noticed and gain fame by running shows in different venues. However, that changed with the Arctic Monkeys. They gave away their demo CDs at their gigs which their fans would share over the internet slowly gaining popularity and ending up getting signed by BBC. The band was formed in 2002 by childhood friends Alex Turner, Matt Helders, and Andy Nicholson. Andy would go on to leave the band being replaced by Nick O'Malley. Jamie Cook would later join on guitars.

Their latest Album has been a massive hit, making Arctic Monkeys a household name. Our favorite track from the album has to be Why'd you only call me when you're High? It tells a story of a person struggling with drug addiction trying to pursue a potential partner. The song emphasizes heavily on its bassline. The bassline carries the entire song while the guitar nad drums add their own flavors. The entire album has sold millions of copies worldwide to this day.
